Note : Please do pre-define a trade value and trade accordingly. Never trade blindly only by quantity. Your decided trade value can be as low as even Rs. 5000 per trade on intraday calls. But just stick on to it. Don’t trade Rs. 50 value shares also 100 in quantity and Rs. 500 value shares also 100 in quantity. If you trade Rs. 50 value share 100 nos then you should trade Rs. 500 value shares only 10 in nos. This way you will clearly aware what is the profits / losses you are making.

Let’s assume a capital of Rs.100,000/- and a risk appetite of 2% for a trade (Rs.2,000/-). You want to buy a stock of Rs.100/- with a 10% stoploss (Rs.10). The quantity you should trade is 2000/10=200 shares. So if your stoploss gets hit, you should exit and your max loss will be Rs.2000/-.
Position sizing is extremely important from the risk management and stoploss management perspective.
